Neutron scattering, magnetization, and Mössbauer measurements on EuPd2Si2 with enriched 153Eu isotopes.

摘要: We report the measurement of dynamic magnetic susceptibility an intermediate-valence Eu compound in inelastic neutron scattering experiments, namely, on a sample EuPd 2 Si with enriched 153 Eu. The most remarkable feature is increase quasielastic linewidth decreasing temperature, which apparently consequence well-known temperature-driven valence change. Moreover, at low temperatures strong line observed, interpreted as multiplet transition within 3+ configuration (J=0→J=1). To check quality sample, additional Mossbauer and magnetization measurements were performed. From these we conclude fraction approximately 6% so-called "satellite" phase our ferromagnetic whose effects can be separated consistently out all data.
