Model studies of the mechanisms of tuning of visual cortex neurons to incomplete cross-shaped figures.

摘要: Numerical simulation modeling of the receptive fields visual cortex neurons able to detect cross-shaped figures with masked central or peripheral areas was performed. Receptive field models two types were considered: those antagonistic and cooperative interactions between center periphery. Model reciprocal (antagonistic) produced greater responses crosses than complete crosses. Studies using model showed that basis this type tuning could be provided by a disinhibition mechanism: blockade inhibitory zones in periphery activation lateral disinhibitory zone. A also studied, which summed from parts. Tuning these comparable sensitivity real shape, size, orientation figures. The properties (configuration, localization, weightings various zones) allowing cat 17 sensitive configuration incomplete identified.
