摘要: Abstract In this study, two types of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) confined concrete cylinders were prepared. One was FRP jacketed cylinders; the other tube encased cylinders. A total 24 and 15 For cylinders, six orientations wall thicknesses used; for four batches with normal to high strength used both bonded unbonded interfacial conditions considered. It is found that insufficiently behave similar unconfined cannot confine core until damaged (cracked or crushed) due larger transverse Poisson’s ratio lower axial stiffness FRP. The rate increase in confinement effectiveness decreases nonlinearly as increases. considerable deviation between prediction by existing design-oriented models test results.
