摘要: Simultaneous recordings of an increasing number neurons have recently become available, but few methods been proposed to handle this activity. Here, we extract and investigate all the possible temporal neural activity patterns based on synchronized firings recorded multiple electrodes, or bursts single-electrode in cat primary auditory cortex. We apply responses periodic click trains sinusoidal amplitude modulated noise by obtaining for each pattern its modulation transfer function. An algorithm that maximizes mutual information between stimuli subsequently leads identification optimally decode frequency (MF). show stimulus contained multi-electrode firing is not redundant with improved efficiency MF decoding. also combined use rate codes a better discrimination MF.
