Infrared window materials and their fabrication

摘要: Process for making densified ternary sulfide ceramics as infrared window erials using compounds MLn2 S4 belonging to the Th3 P4, CaFe2 O4 and spinel structure types. These refractory sulfides show good sinterability especially when fired in flowing hydrogen sulfide, they can be by a combination of hot-pressing hot-isostatic pressing into ceramic pieces approaching their theoretical density with closed pores which have transmission characteristics region.
