摘要: The relationship between the expression of HLA-DR antigens and alpha gene methylation was examined in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Using permanent B cell lines, we found reduced DR SLE. low correlated with high anti-DNA antibody titers patients' sera. amounts message were lower SLE cells than normal controls, suggesting that is associated functions. extent DNA at five CCGG sites locus. from both showed variable patterns. Since a single-copy gene, such variability result assaying mixture transformed clones containing methylated other unmethylated gene. A distinctive feature consistent pattern: 12 lines exactly same pattern. In contrast, 28 cell-line-specific methylation, hypermethylation often transcriptionally inactive genes. Thus, our results suggest (a) hypermethylated genes might express no or few antigens; (b) ratio differently individuals, while, patients, predominate, resulting apparently antigen expression; (c) aberrant could be directly immunoregulatory dysfunctions disease.
