摘要: This paper examines wastewater treatment and reuse in Catalonia Valencia through a benchmarking analysis of energy intensities plants (WWTPs) located the coastal municipalities both regions also involving comparison with average European data on use by these plants. The Spanish Mediterranean WWTPs indicates that small are less intensive than their counterparts, while for larger (above 10,000 m 3 /day) reverse is true. As to between Catalan Valencian plants, latter generally smaller former, slightly more intensive. Regarding reuse, geographical context would explain differences terms final destination effluents treated important presence irrigated agriculture responsible 45% potentially reclaimed water Catalonia, different socioterritorial reality, reuses 3% total effluent treated.
