Thermal‐Diffusion—Column‐Shape Factors for a Gas Composed of Rigid Spherical Molecules

摘要: The thermal‐diffusion—column‐shape factors have been computed for a gas whose molecules interact as rigid spheres. These tabulations supersede the earlier results of Srivastava, which are based on incorrect theoretical expressions shape factors. experimental data helium and xenon interpreted. Previous according to Lennard‐Jones (12–6) Maxwellian models also considered. It is found that both gases calculated values separation in better agreement with inverse power model than potential; improvement though small very pronounced xenon.
