摘要: The four mammalian phosphatidylinositol 4-kinases, together with the PI(4,5)P(2) depleting 5-phosphatases of oculocerebrorenal syndrome Lowe and synaptojanin families, modulate neuronal pools PI4P lipid regulate intracellular membrane trafficking in endocytic secretory pathways. Dysfunctions these enzymes have been associated a broad spectrum disorders including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, syndrome, age-related neurodegeneration, Alzheimer's disease Down syndrome. Recent work has shown that reduced expression individual 4-kinase isozymes is impaired survival specific populations within CNS. Furthermore, alterations to concentrations different phosphoinositide species brain and, particular, ratio can deleterious effects on clathrin-dependent both Golgi-endosomal pathway at plasma membrane. In this article, we focus cell biology, biochemistry functions 4-kinases their emerging roles psychiatric neurological pathologies.
