摘要: A novel Al–7Hf–1.2P master alloy with HfP particles was successfully synthesized by in-situ melt reaction, in which exhibited hexagonal plates three–dimensional spaces. Under the optimized conditions, i.e. addition level of 2.5% alloy, melting temperature 780 °C and holding time 60 min, primary Mg2Si Mg2Si/Al composites can be significantly refined from more than 121.70 μm to 19.20 μm, morphologies improved coarse dendrite octahedron or truncated obviously. Furthermore, it found that Hf also has a significant modification effect on eutectic simultaneously. However, microstructure composite becomes slightly coarser further increase exceeding 1.5%. Meanwhile, precipitates form HfSi2 near spherical shape. Based FESEM photo-micrographs, first observed could act as heterogeneous nucleation sites for particles, resulting excellent refinement composites.
