摘要: Chronic single-unit recordings were obtained from the mitral celllayer of olfactory bulbs awake freely moving rats placed in anodorant stream. Over periods up to five days, 618 186single neurons obtained. Responses individual werefound be quite variable over time, although this variability wasbelow chance and was not incremental. The responses nearbyneurons more similar than expected by but less similarthan recorded at different times. However, responses spatially well-separated differentthan short time periods. During rapid sniffing,single-unit became variable, spatialorganization apparent. These results suggestthat neuronal bulb are generally quitevariable with increasing during periodsof sniffing. interpreted context adistributed, centrally modulated model olfactoryprocessing.
