摘要: Biomass burning, one of the most important global sources particulate matter, produces both airborne particles that may influence and regional climate, incorporated into sediments provide records past local, regional, impacts biomass burning. Determining mass concentrations, chemical compositions, physical properties these is a prerequisite for assessing environmental effects In this Chapter we describe methods characterization sedimentary used in burning studies, with particular emphasis on carbonaceous material. For each method review principles, problems uncertainties and, when possible, discuss analytical features presently or potentially applicable to characterizing sediment particles.
