摘要: A strategy to increase nitrogen (N) use efficiency in maize is the genetic improvement of N acquisition through root morphology. Here, we quantified variation 150 tropical inbred lines for morphology and shoot traits investigated relationships among traits. We evaluated at seedling stage a greenhouse experiment under two treatments: high low supply. mixed model approach was used estimate variance components. Canonical correlations were estimated between root- shoot-related groups traits, diversity determined. Our line panel showed huge variability all presented large both levels. Root dry weight (RDW) associated with (SDW) N, RDW total length (TRL) positively SDW N. Based on SDW, TRL, selected set top 15 be breeding programs focusing N-use efficiency. therefore concluded that there significant lines, which have potential produce N-efficient hybrids populations stress conditions.
