摘要: We developed histological methods to increase precision in measuring oocyte size and, for the first time, quantify changes composition during ovarian development penaeids. Wild-caught female Metapenaeus dalli Racek, 1957 from Swan-Canning Estuary, Perth, Western Australia were used as a model species compare novel method traditional techniques. Morphological analysis showed that M. occurs five stages: immature, early maturing, late mature, and post spawning, which is consistent with other Analysis of key morphometric parameters length Gonad Somatic Index (GSI) GSI provided strongest discriminators development. Oogenesis was similar qualitative descriptions penaeid prawns most-closely related previous affinis Milne Edwards, 1837. Comparisons between perimeter tracing single linear dimensions greater achieved by tracing. This resulted 17-40% reduction confidence limits means all cell types measured. A technique examining also developed. allowed relationship stages proportion volume be determined. The difference proportions each stage found statistically significant, except immature spawning females. this study provide new opportunities penaeids possibly species.
