摘要: To determine the safety and efficiacy of laparoscopic splenectomy (LS) in children, a retrospective review our preliminary experience using LS was compared to results patients who previously underwent open (OS). From July 1993 January 1995, we performed eight procedures six children with hereditary spherocytosis (HS) two immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). Laparoscopic cholecystectomy simultaneously done one case HS. There were 4 males females ranged age from 5 15 years—an average 8.8 years. Two cases early series required counterincision because bleeding. Eleven OS department used compare demographics, operative courses, surgical outcomes. The ages, genders, diseases, body weights, spleen weights comparable between group groups. time for statistically longer than (226±24 min vs 101±8 min, P<0.001). estimated blood loss similar that (100±39 ml 73±11 ml, P=0.97). no peri- or postoperative complications hospital stay shorter (6.8±0.6 days 10.4±0.5 days, provided better cosmesis minimized trauma over OS. appears be safe effective procedure is useful management pediatric HS ITP.
