摘要: Single-molecule spectroscopy has opened exciting new realms of research, allowing the exploration molecular dynamics within heterogeneous media, from live cells to chemical catalysts. Raman individual molecules is particularly useful because it may provide more detailed information than available in typically broad fluorescent spectrum. To overcome problem small cross sections, however, enhancement by surface plasmon excitation necessary. This strong gaps between noble metal nanoparticles; indeed, enough for observation signals single molecules. The electromagnetic fields generated plasmons depend quite intricately on shape nanoparticles, their spatial arrangement, and environment. Single can serve as ultimate local probes plasmonic fields.
