摘要: Abstract Arguably one of the oldest recorded methods treating burns is still recommended today, namely prompt cooling injured part, usually in cold water. Such therapy was by Galen (AD 129–199) and Rhazes 852–923) Earle (1799) Sorensen (1967). As a first aid measure it has numerous advocates 1970s 1980s. Almost certainly subjective considerations initiated this form treatment only within recent times have objective studies confirmed beneficial effects more rapid reduction tissue temperature thus severity injury.
