摘要: Since propolis and phenolic compounds, such as cinnamic coumaric acids, have several biological properties, their immunomodulatory effect on cytokine production (IL-1β, IL-6 IL-10) was investigated. Peritoneal macrophages from BALB/c mice were incubated with propolis, acids in different concentrations the that inhibited tested before or after macrophage challenge LPS, to evaluate a possible action. Propolis stimulated IL-1β production, while significantly incubation (5, 50 100 µg/well), (50 100 µg/well). In LPS-challenge protocols, inhibitory of LPS prevented efficiently its effects whereas both addition. Propolis, 100 µg/well) IL-10 well. Both showed similar activity when added challenge, counteracted action incubation. modulated immune/inflammatory response, depending concentration. Its efficiency may occur due synergistic be involved production. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
