摘要: Given the abundance of literature on collective memory practices, there is relatively little empirical research socialization processes explaining transmission such practices. This article examines to what extent war-specific communication and parental exemplar behaviour function as a link between collected memories individuals society's memory. Utilizing data from an online survey conducted in 2014, we focus participation activities organized Remembrance Day Liberation Netherlands remembrance Second World War. We distinguish public private Our findings highlight that different forms substitute for one another. Whereas with non-relatives particularly relevant those communicating less frequently parents about past war experiences, behaviour, participating two-minute silence Day, plays bigger role amongst lower levels either relatives or non-relatives.
