摘要: Faecal samples of healthy dogs (n=39) and cats (n=36) obtained in Northern Portugal were seeded on Levine agar plates, two Escherichia coli isolates per sample recovered (78 66 cats). The susceptibility to 16 antimicrobial agents was tested this series 144 E. isolates. Almost 20% them showed tetracycline resistance 12 15% presented ampicillin or streptomycin resistance, respectively. percentage the other all cases below 4%, no resistant detected for ceftazidime, imipenem, cefoxitin amikacin. Two (from one dog) cefotaxime-resistance harboured both CTX-M-1 OXA-30 beta-lactamases. A bla(TEM) gene 17 ampicillin-resistant isolates, aac(3)-II three gentamicin-resistant aadA 7 22 streptomycin-resistant tet(A) and/or tet(B) 28 tetracycline-resistant encoding class 1 integrase six including four trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole-resistant those harbouring beta-lactamases; different cassette arrangements identified: dfrA1+aadA1 (two isolates), dfrA12+orfF+aadA2 isolates) bla(OXA30)+aadA1 isolates). One amino acid change GyrA protein (Ser83Leu Asp87Tyr) nalidixic acid-resistant ciprofloxacin-susceptible changes (Ser83Leu+Asp87Asn) ParC (Ser80Ile) identified acid- ciprofloxacin-resistant isolate. pets could be a reservoir genes.
