摘要: Quality control mechanisms operate in various steps of ribosomal biogenesis to ensure the production functional ribosome particles. It was reported previously that mature particles containing nonfunctional mutant rRNAs are also recognized and selectively removed by a cellular quality system (nonfunctional rRNA decay [NRD]). Here, we show NRD 25S requires ubiquitin E3 ligase component Rtt101p its associated protein Mms1p, identified as factors involved DNA repair. We revealed group proteins with ubiquitinated Rtt101–Mms1-dependent manner. disrupted when ubiquitination inhibited overexpression modified molecules, demonstrating direct role for this pathway. These results uncovered an unexpected connection between repair rRNAs. Our findings support model which responses damages triggered common complex during genotoxic stress harmful both molecules.
