摘要: Background: Disparities between U.S. population groups in cancer incidence, treatment and outcome have been well documented. Literature evidence is scarce regarding the impact of patient navigator programs on elimination these differences. Methods: This a retrospective case series analysis .The pre -navigation group included patients diagnosed January 1, 1997 December 31, 1999. The post 2000 2003. Cancer stage, time from presentation to were compared by review medical records. Results: Three hundred thirty five women Thirteen ineligible, 103 pre- navigation group, 219 post-navigation group. 157 (72%) received services. median first was decreased 9 days (42 33 -navigator group). Race, insurance clinical did not influence treatment. Conclusions: Navigation program stage or overall survival women. There modest decrease initial definitive therapy. utility likely vary with each institution.
