摘要: Abstract An innovative combination of roll compaction, and thermomechanical processing allowed manufacture FeAl alloy intermetallic sheets with 24 wt.% Al content. Green were obtained by compaction water atomized powder a polymeric binder. Roll compacted green de-bindered partially sintered prior to cold rolling through tungsten carbide rolls. Cold decreased the thickness, reduced level porosity work-hardened sheets. Several intermediate annealings at or above 1100°C found be necessary relieve work hardening stresses final thickness 0.20 mm. The annealing temperatures chosen allow concurrent sintering for densification Thermomechanical rolled commercial without necessity hot cast ingot. Fully dense possess fine grain microstructure an average size 20 /xm. electrical resistivities can varied from 140 155 μΩ cm -1 , high make them ideally suited resistive heating applications. Mechanical properties are comparable extruded alloys.
