摘要: Insufficiency of the passive patellar restraints results in lateral instability by allowing excessive displacement patella. Although surgical approach to traditionally has been realign dynamic elements (muscle forces) that pull patella laterally, newer techniques have sought restore integrity key medial (ligamentous) stabilizers. An increasing body evidence indicates chief ligamentous restraint is patellofemoral ligament. The current authors examine principles retinacular repair and reconstruction as they relate stability. Individual approaches are discussed, including primary with or without augmentation, using autogenous tendon, allografts, synthetic graft materials. These procedures share common objective addressing essential lesion normal against displacement.
