摘要: Publisher Summary Amplification or overexpression of epidermal growth factor (EGF) family receptors is frequently implicated in human cancer. This chapter helps understanding the involvement EGF and their ligands neoplasia. The EGF-related peptides can be divided into two groups, depending on binding specificities. One group binds predominantly to receptor (EGFR) while second peptides, product a single gene, composed variously named neu differentiation factors bind directly ErbB-4 with high affinity. are also potentially useful targets for anticancer therapy. Abnormalities EGFR-signaling pathway have been associated development many cancers. EGFR therefore used as potential target chemoprevention. Over expression ErbB-2 has detected adenocarcinomas from several tissues including 30% lung stomach adenocarcinomas. amplification correlated poor prognosis breast Immunotherapy long considered promising approach treatment Monoclonal antibodies raised against both system extracellular domain ErbB-2.
