摘要: Miller's classic 1956 article is best known today for its discussion of capacity limitations in short-term memory, but the bulk dealt with absolute judgment tasks and relation such to information theory. Many puzzles first raised by Miller remain a puzzle today. The authors review some literature directed toward this issue discuss few models that attempt elucidate phenomena. Since there has been an enormous research effort aimed at understanding mechanisms resulting considerable progress. briefly these advances. conclude, as did, noting probable lack connection between observed 2 areas inquiry.
