摘要: There is increasing interest in the literature indicating that volumetric regulation of left ventricle (LV) and right (RV) may be conveniently represented a graph relating end-systolic volume (ESV) to end-diastolic (EDV). This view contrasts with classical description by Starling's law, which for decades has dominated analysis input–output relationships heart. In present study we critically survey existing evidence graphical representation emphasizing role ESV rather than stroke (SV) as dependent variable cardiac function. Mostly linear relationship between EDV been documented. concept now applied both particular heart under consideration population-based approach. We analyzed data obtained from human patients, instrumented conscious dogs, healthy horses, found diameters. A distinct parallel leftward shift regression curve commensurate diminished parasympathetic activity, whereas clockwise rotation associated decreased sympathetic activity. The ensuing changing patterns vs. have implications ejection fraction, derived an analytical formula account such dependence. Thus, expression provides functional factors regulating LV RV volume. new approach applies health disease states, shown invariant afterload variation, contrast Starling curve. Moreover, it appears typically sensitive various types interventions, including those affecting chronotropic inotropic state.
