摘要: OBJECTIVES To detect the presence of virulence markers cytotoxin-associated (cagA) and vacuolating (vacA) genes in gastric biopsy specimens patients with gastroduodenal disorders. METHODS This study was conducted at Department Pathology, King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh, Kingdom Saudi Arabia between March 2008 February 2009. A total 118 from 81 males 37 females (mean age: 55 +/- 18 years) histological evidence for Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) were included study. The H. cagA vacA detected using polymerase chain reaction-enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay technique. RESULTS Both 60 (51%) patients. Forty-one (35%) had active chronic gastritis, 22 (54%) harbored cagA, 25 (61%) gene. Twenty-six (22%) duodenal ulcer, 14 15 (58%) genes. Eighteen (15%) acute 8 (44%) carrying gene, 12 (67%) co-existed all 17 (100%) adenocarcinoma. These coexisted 44% biopsies 46% each ulcer gastritis. CONCLUSIONS The as disorders, their remarkably high co-existence adenocarcinoma prompt further investigations evaluating a direct carcinogen.
