Optimization of microwave assisted solvent extraction of polychlorinated biphenyls from marine sediments

摘要: A simple and rapid procedure to extract polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) from marine sediments by means of microwave energy is proposed. Both spiked real sediment samples were irradiated with microwaves in a closed vessel system while immersed hexane–acetone (1:1). Factorial design was applied optimize the assisted solvent extraction process using sediment. Four variables (extraction time temperature, volume moisture percentage sediment) considered optimization process. The results show that all compounds behave same way only statistically significant. Recoveries PCBs around 100% 2 11% relative standard deviation. Validation carried out processing certified reference material. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Micro Sep 11: 544–549, 1999
