Epidemiology of surgically treated primary spinal cord tumors in Miyagi, Japan.

摘要: Background: Data for spinal cord tumors have not been collected in the past on a population-based level Japan. The objective of study was to provide detailed estimates incidence surgically treated primary Methods: Incidence estimated from patients between 2008 and 2010 Miyagi Prefecture. overall calculated, as well individual rates according age group, gender, pathology tumor location. Results: Of identified (n = 112), 98% were nonmalignant. 1.60/100,000 person-years with an 1.77/100,000 males 1.45/100,000 females. rate highest group 60-64 years (3.04/100,000). Schwannoma accounted 56% meningioma 13% tumors. histological type schwannoma (0.90/100,000), followed by (0.20/100,000). Conclusions: Due high schwannomas, is higher Japan than Western countries, Japanese females, different that observed countries.
