Ag atoms isolated in N2 matrices were studied by simultaneous observation of optical absorption and electron spin resonance (ESR). In with low Ag/N2 ratios two ESR signals observed, both which could be correlated to the well known triplet corresponding 5s 2S 5p 2P transition. One disappeared irreversably upon annealing up 20 K. The stable species is attributed a nanocrystalline environment whereas unstable corresponds non-crystalline regions between crystallites. higher doped new spectrum showed up, ESR. It assigned near-by complexes, possibly clusters.
