摘要: Abstract Electron density profiles corresponding to chemical equilibrium, and electron temperatures heating of ambient electrons by auroral secondaries have been computed for five stable arc systems with published height λ 3914 volume emission rates. The maximum varies approximately as the three-quarters power intensity while temperature remarkably little. For these auroras maxima lie between 2920°K 3511°K occur at altitudes 330 km 390 km.
