摘要: Abstract The effects of top coverings organic matter and subsoil on the growth potential chromate smelter waste were investigated in glasshouse experimental trials. Peat sewage sludge superior to soil but regression occurred due root restriction desiccation unless was initially covered with a 25–30 cm layer granular, free-draining subsoil. This material provided waste-free rooting medium restricted mobility, thereby preventing contamination medium, even under conditions severe water stress. It concluded that unavoidable cover during large-scale reclamation should be treated by ferrous sulphate application amelioration.
