摘要: Ionizing radiation suppresses neurogenesis in the mammalian brain. This vitro study compared detrimental effect of acute gamma-irradiation on immature hippocampal cells with mature cells. Both rat (0.5 day (DIV)) and (14 DIV) were irradiated 0-4 Gy gamma-rays. Cell viability was analyzed by using a 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. DNA fragmentation performed extracting intracellular DNA. Morphological features apoptosis characterized 4',6-diamidine-2'-phenylindole, dihydrochloride (DAPI) staining. MTT assay revealed that survival rate declined dose-dependent manner within range irradiation applied, but not changed Intranucleosomal ladder like pattern dose-dependently increased cells, The number apoptotic nuclei significantly applied. Active caspase-3 cleaved poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) expressions at 6 hr after 2 exposure markedly higher than control levels. greater radiosensitivity indicates susceptibility such depends their maturation. In addition, may induce caspase-dependent
