摘要: Abstract An experimental campaign was carried out to investigate the applicability of scratch test when studying effect CO2 exposure on mechanical strength a Berea outcrop sandstone specimen. A water-alternating-gas scheme chosen for flooding tests, using super-critical and 10% KCl brine. Subsequent bulk X-ray diffraction analysis showed decrease in feldspar increase dolomite content, comparing flooded specimen with dry brine-saturated specimens. However, these mineralogical differences may be due local heterogeneities rather than treatment itself. Scratch testing used assess unconfined compressive strength; no significant reduction could observed CO2-exposed as compared that only saturated
