摘要: Computation of the energy budget, average daily metabolic rate, and standard metabolism require information on hourly rates over a full 24-hour period. This study provides such for lemon shark, tropical predator. Simultaneous measurements activity in an annular respirometer demonstrated that oxygen consumption increased from daytime level 176 to 210 mgO2 kg−1h−1 at night. Activity concurrently 0.17 0.33 bl s−1. The rate was 16.2 k cal kg−1 0.26 s−1 23°C. Both appear have endogenous circadian components.
