摘要: CP26 is the most recently described antenna protein in higher plants which has been reported to be involved xanthophyll-dependent regulation of light-harvesting function but largely unknown due difficulties purification. In this study we have overexpressed Escherichia coli Lhcb5 gene product and reconstituted vitro by refolding recombinant presence chlorophyll a, b xanthophylls. The resulting pigment-protein complex stable enough isolated partially denaturing gel electrophoresis. Reconstitution isolation conditions for are similar those used other a/b complexes like major photosystem II (LHCII) CP29; however, differs with regard its lower specificity carotenoid binding. Most significantly, rather can containing violaxanthin as only carotenoid. This enhanced plasticity respect binding consistent being xanthophyll cycle. availability opens way a better characterisation biochemistry physiological functions.
