摘要: This paper presents a technique for comparing the results of different assembly line balancing strategies by using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). Initially, several heuristics--which can be thought as strategies--were used to solve seven line-balancing problems. The resulting balance solutions provided two pieces information that were particular interest: number workers needed and amount equipment needed. These items considered inputs DEA. then layouts simulated production runs. From simulation experiments, output performance measures obtained which interest outputs analysis shows DEA is effective in suggesting heuristics are most promising.
