Personality and Cognition in Gamers: Avoidance Expectancies Mediate the Relationship Between Maladaptive Personality Traits and Symptoms of Internet-Gaming Disorder.

摘要: Internet-gaming disorder (IGD) has become a clinically relevant phenomenon worth investigating with respect to its mechanisms of development and maintenance. Considering theoretical models specific Internet-use disorders, we assumed an interaction maladaptive personality traits as unspecific predisposing factors experience-based, gaming-related expectancies in predicting symptoms IGD. Therefore, 103 male female regular Internet gamers were investigated questionnaires assessing accordance DSM-5, positive avoidance expectancies, The results demonstrated that negative affectivity, detachment, antagonism, disinhibition, psychoticism well related Moreover, the relationship between represented by IGD was mediated expectancies. Positive use not significant mediator hypothesized model. findings give reason assume combination are important for IGD, but play differential role regarding there mediating characteristics
