Myringoplasty under local anaesthesia: day case surgery

摘要: Eleven patients underwent fat graft myringoplasty, using EMLA cream local anaesthetic, as day cases. 10 of them were followed up, and 3 months post-operatively, 8/10 (80%) the perforations completely closed, with an average improvement hearing threshold 11 dB. All satisfied procedure it is concluded that myringoplasty under anaesthesia a case safe, simple, reliable cost effective. It should be considered for closure small (30% or less) tympanic membrane.
