摘要: Abstract The present study was designed to examine the effect of agmatine, decarboxylated product l -arginine by decarboxylase, on convulsion in mouse maximal electroshock (MES) test and glutamate-induced convulsant test. MES glutamate were respectively induced an electrical stimulation (110 V, 0.3 s, 8 Hz) intracerebroventricular injection (0.5 M, pH 7.4, 5μl). results expressed as tonic clonic time or percentage mice with hind-limb extension assay. Agmatine given intracerebroventricularly (2–16 mg/kg) subcutaneously (10–160 significantly shortened times a dose-dependent manner Glutamate 5μl icv per mouse) obvious convulsive response indicated mice, agmatine mg/kg icv) decreased rate like NMDA receptor antagonist MK-801. anticonvulsive (80 sc) both lasted for more than 4 h after administration test, which twice that barbital. Taken together, implicate has effects, its possible mechanism might be related antagonism function receptors.
