摘要: RNA interference (RNAi) is widely used to silence genes in plants and animals. It operates through the degradation of target mRNA by endonuclease complexes guided approximately 21 nucleotide (nt) short interfering RNAs (siRNAs). A similar process regulates expression some developmental nt microRNAs. Plants have four types Dicer-like (DCL) enzyme, each producing small with different functions. Here, we show that DCL2, DCL3 DCL4 Arabidopsis both replicating viral RNAi-inducing hairpin (hpRNAs) into 22-, 24- siRNAs, respectively, loss DCL2 activities required negate RNAi release plant's repression replication. We also hpRNAs, infection, can engender long-distance silencing signals hpRNA-induced suppressed a virus-derived suppressor protein. These findings indicate hpRNA-mediated defence pathway.
