摘要: Fluoroquinolone resistance in pneumococci is known to be associated with the efflux pump, PmrA. However, there may other systems that also cause drug resistance. Two types of mutants were studied. The phenotype from selected by sub-MIC levofloxacin or gemifloxacin was transformed into R6. These transformants did not show increased pmrA transcripts Northern blots; insertional inactivation abolish phenotype. A second set R6:cat ethidium bromide but norfloxacin; accumulation one among these studied reduced comparison its parent. This evidence suggests than PmrA can contribute efflux-mediated pneumococci.
