Direct neutron observation of a single-q incommensurate phase of quartz at zero stress.

摘要: We have used very high-resolution neutron diffraction to prove the existence of a "single-$\mathbf{q}$" incommensurate quartz phase at zero stress directly. The transition from single-$\mathbf{q}$ "triple-$\mathbf{q}$" state is first order.
