摘要: J. Neurochem. (2012) 122, 605–618. Abstract Neurons located in the trigeminal subnucleus caudalis (Vc) play crucial roles pain and sensorimotor functions orofacial region. Because of many anatomical functional similarities with spinal dorsal horn (SDH), Vc has been termed medullary - analogous to SDH. Here, we report that when compared embryonic SDH neurons culture, isolated from region showed significantly slower growth, lower glutamate receptor activity, more cells undergoing cell death. neuron development was inhibited co-cultures tissues while promoted by co-culture tissues. Furthermore, identified small (non-protein) ninhydrin-reacting molecules purified either or post-natal Vc-conditioned medium neuronal growth whereas SDH-conditioned growth. These findings suggest involvement locally released factors region-specific regulation SDH, central nervous system regions playing critical pain, point novel avenues for investigating regionalization designing therapeutic approaches manage neurodegenerative diseases pain.
