摘要: Summary The literature on the use of radioactive materials in various kinds ecological work small mammals is reviewed under three main headings–inert implants used as markers for tracing movements, external tags similar purposes, and metabolizable radionuclides introduced into animals' bodies not only direct movements marked individuals, but indirect by detecting excreta, automatic marking offspring ectoparasites, which can turn be identified traced. A comprehensive table summarizes reviewed, also characteristics isotopes or suggested use. Tests were carried out possible methods using iodine-131 a marker mammals. Intraperitoneal injection 131-iodide silver iodide bound to an ion-exchange resin gave unsatisfactorily short biological half-life might useful excreta. Silver incorporated epoxy encapsulated metal plastic could prove implant. Silver 131 -iodide paint was quickly removed from fur grooming, insects. Silver-131-iodide–Araldite mixture leg ring proved useful, despite inherent disadvantages rings.
