摘要: Abstract We investigated the chronic toxicity of Ag, as silver nitrate, using two freshwater aquatic cladoceran species, Ceriodaphnia dubia and Daphnia magna, to generate data for development a ambient water quality criterion Ag. Preliminary studies with C. showed variable results which were related equilibration time between food silver. Follow-up testing was conducted 3 h time, stabilized dissolved Ag concentrations Ag+. Results individually (1 per cup, n = 10) in mass (30 chamber, n = 2) gave similar once standardized times used. The maximum acceptable toxicant concentration (MATC) D. magna 9.61 3.00 μg Ag/L, respectively. Ag+ also evaluated presence of: (1) organic carbon (DOC) (2) sulfide. addition DOC (0.4 mg/L) resulted ∼50% decrease while sulfide (75.4 nM) deceased by 42%. Whole-body positively correlated increased levels exposure, however; we observed non-statistical whole-body Na levels, an estimator sodium homeostasis.
