摘要: The mechanisms behind the efficacy of exclusive enteral nutrition (EEN) in Crohn’s disease (CD) remain poorly understood, despite high rate treatment response. Evidence accumulated last 20 years suggests that a positive shift disrupted microbiota is one effects. purpose this study was to critically review and summarize data reporting microbiological effects EEN patients with CD. Fourteen studies were considered review, overall involving 216 CD on EEN. heterogeneous methods analysis exclusion criteria. most frequently reported effect reduction diversity, reversible when returned normal diet. specific bacteria very variable different studies, partially due methodological limitations mentioned studies. seem induce some metabolomic changes, which are long-term responder compared relapse earlier. Bacterial changes can be relevant explaining EEN; however, obtained from rigorously performed derived generation techniques largely inconsistent.
