Characterizations of a New Tl-based Elpasolite Scintillator: Tl 2 LiScCl 6

摘要: A new Tl2LiScCl6 (TLSC) single crystal was grown by using the two-zone vertical Bridgman method. The TLSC belongs to cubic chloro-elpasolite family. Under X-ray excitation at room temperature, an emission spectrum from 300 550 nm obtained, with maximum being 385 nm. scintillation properties, such as energy resolution, light yield and decay time of crystal, were measured temperature a 137Cs γ-ray source. resolution 662 keV photopeak found be 8.3% (full width half maximum). Using LYSO reference, we obtained 26000 ± 2600 ph/MeV under γ-rays. developed shows exponential 1.147 µs Due high effective Z-number (67) density it can used for efficient detection X- γ-rays in various applications. It also has potential thermal neutrons via 6Li(n, α) reaction. Further improvements properties are expected rare-earth doping this compound, which is subject our future work.
