摘要: Abstract Scintillation properties of the new Tl2LaCl5: xCe3+ where x=0, 0.5, 1 and 10 mol % (TLC: Ce3+) single crystals are presented. Two zones vertical Bridgman technique is used for growth this scintillation material. High Z-number (79) material offer excellent detection efficiency X- γ-rays. Grown samples characterized under γ-rays excitation in order to find emission wavelength, energy resolution, light yield, decay time. Emission spectra exhibit Ce3+ bands between 350–550 nm peaking at 389 nm. The obtained resolution yield increases with high Ce-concentration. Energy 10%Ce-doped sample found be 6.9% (FWHM) 51,000±5000 ph/MeV, respectively room temperature. For grown samples, two exponential time constants found. measured showed variation their values respect Ce-concentrations host crystal. Fast constant 31 ns 87% 10%Ce sample. results suggested that TLC will one promising next generation scintillator medical imaging techniques such as Positron Tomography (PET).
